About me

Hi. I'm Álvaro Ortega Escot. On this page I'm going to open up a little. I think it's hard to trust someone you don't know just by checking their website, so consider this my way of connecting with you. Behind every professional there's a story. Here's mine.

The beginning

I was born in San Pedro de Alcántara (Marbella) in 1997. Like most kids in Spain, I grew up playing football every chance I got. Between that and school, the years flew by. After finishing high school — not without a few doubts along the way — I decided to study Marketing at the University of Málaga.

The discovery of SEO

During my studies, I joined a free Digital Marketing course. That was the first time I heard the word SEO. Something about keywords. To be honest, what really caught my attention was the lifestyle the speaker had. Working remotely, just with a laptop… that guy was cool.

After finishing my Marketing degree and enjoying an Erasmus experience in Poland, I wanted to work abroad. So I went to England to work as a catering assistant at a children's camp — a way to keep improving my English before looking for a marketing job.

Then Covid happened

Two months in, Covid hit. My plan fell apart. What now? Then I remembered that cool guy teaching SEO back in Málaga. I thought: maybe I could follow that path. So I enrolled in my first SEO Master's programme while studying English in Granada.

The pursuit paid off

After finishing my SEO Master's and spending a few months working at SEO agencies in Spain, I got an opportunity to work in Malta. That's where I really started to grow as a professional. And meanwhile, I got to enjoy life on a beautiful island — scuba diving, surfing, sun all year round.

I was comfortable. A job I genuinely liked, in a place surrounded by the sea. I was happy.

The remote opportunity

But even happy, I was ready for a bigger challenge. Working remotely had always been on my mind. When the opportunity came, I didn't hesitate. After almost three years in Malta, it was time for a new chapter. I moved to Lisbon with a new remote job.

From top to bottom

I was at the best moment of my professional career. Promoted to SEO Manager, working on high-traffic websites, and freshly finished with a Technical SEO Master's. Then, at the beginning of 2026, due to internal restructuring, my department was shut down and I lost my job.

I won't lie — it was tough starting over with interviews after achieving everything I had worked towards. But after a few weeks, I landed another role at an agency.

The push that I needed

The time without a job made me think. I had worked on dozens of websites. I had managed a team. After two Master's degrees, I was more than confident in my skills. So why not work on my own, with my own philosophy?

That decision brought me here. If we end up working together, this is what you get: fewer clients, more depth, and long-term relationships built on real results. Agencies spread thin across hundreds of clients and can't give your project the time it deserves. Full dedication to make a project grow.
